This week Drew and M. Joshua chat with writers Kate Kadowaki and Miguel Melendez about the concept of creation and wonder in videogames. We debate whether games handle these subjects well and discuss the almost magical experience of exploring an well realized game world for the first time with little-to-no-context. We each share our favorite moments of wonder, beauty, and awe in game worlds as well as our favorite games that have instilled in us a sense of wonder, awe, or mystery.

Games discussed: Uncharted 4, Virginia, Fallout 3, No Man’s Sky, Minecraft, Far Cry 2, Journey, The Walking Dead, ABZU, and Magic: The Gathering.

Listen to The GameChurch Podcast Episode 78:

The GameChurch Podcast is an open and honest conversation about games, life, and belief. Every other week host Drew Dixon is joined by a member of the GameChurch writing staff to talk to people in the video game industry to find out what makes them tick and how their personal beliefs influence the games they interact with.
