I (Used to) Get This Call Everyday: How David Gallant Lost His Job

One of the great things about videogames is their ability to convey emotions to others when words alone wont suffice. But sometimes that isn’t such a great thing.

Such is the case with David Gallant, a family man with aspirations of a career in game design who, until recently, paid the bills by working at a call center. So logically he took his lemon of a job and turned it into I Get This Call Everydaya game about the emotionally bankrupt routine that is his job.

That’s not exactly a crime, and Gallant was intentionally vague about his employer’s identity, but despite his best efforts his employers found out about the game. Judging by their reaction and his recent twitter posts, it’s a safe bet that Gallant was fired. Not surprising maybe, but also maybe not exactly justified. Check out the original article from Kotaku here, and consider purchasing Gallant’s first game. Let’s hope it’s the firstof many.
