Laura Shigihara joins us to talk about her game new Rakuen. The prolific composer talks about her history with family, faith, and the themes of redemption.

Laura Shigihara joins M Joshua this week on the GameChurch Podcast. The composer for the original Plants vs. Zombies mobile game is an accomplished composer, singer-songwriter, and game developer with over 25 published titles to her profile including To The Moon and World of Warcraft.

In this episode, Laura talks to M Joshua about her development debut with Rakuen. The game is about a “Boy” who is hospitalized but travels with him mother to a fantasy world where he walks in the shoes of his hospital neighbors and by doing so, helps them find closure in their lives. Having lived in New York, California, and Japan Laura has been surrounded by diverse cultures and religions and talks with M. Joshua about her love of the Christian faith with a specific focus on the unconditional love and themes of redemption that helped her in her own life and can be found in the 16-bit style hallways of Rakuen.
